Arguably one of the most diverse counties, with split responses when posed the question ‘do you need access to the city?’ The south would think London, whereas the north would think Birmingham; either is accessed with simple communication routes via road, air or rail which are real advantage points. Stratford-upon-Avon is perhaps the epicentre of the county, famed for William Shakespeare. The beautiful rural countryside reinforces Warwickshire’s diversity with dense areas of farmland and charming rural villages butting against towns such as Leamington Spa to the east, Solihull to the north and Banbury joining the Oxfordshire borders to the south.
Substantial country houses are plentiful and architecturally varied throughout Warwickshire. Whilst perhaps less prestigious than Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire, rarely do you realise that you have drifted into a Warwickshire postcode. In fact there is a good grammar school system and top-notch hotels and recreational facilities; Warwickshire has all the hallmarks of a first-class county.
